Because it is common sense. Nurse was sick. Didn’t know what she had. Why ask someone that is not an Doctor. Or is he? The normal protocol the Nurse should have taken was to go to her doctor and ask her doctor for a diagnosis. Told her doctor that she was planning a trip and didn’t know if she was well enough to take it. Why make a call to the CDC for a complaint of a fever and didn’t know where the fever was coming from. My mom was a RN nurse and she is trained like an Doctor and is trained for symptoms medication etc., etc., and to be able to handle any emergency. What school did she go to and where did she get her license from to practice nursing. From the Cracker Jack Box. She was the first one to be in contact with a patient that had a serious illness. She knew the risk when dealing with any disease that she was unfamiliar with. All she had to do was go see her doctor first. Don’t make any calls because they can’t evaluate you over the phone. If my mom was in this situation and I came to her she would tell me to go to see my doctor and find out if I am well enough to travel. Just because you don’t want to get sick when you are away from home. She only contacted the CDC because she knew that they wouldn’t know enough about her when they made that decision to tell her to go ahead and fly. I am blaming her for placing women, men and children at risk of catching the disease. No the CDC should not be fired. He didn’t have enough information to make that educated decision. If the nurse had of seen her doctor then, she could have told the CDC. Look I seen my doctor and he said he thinks I have a fever from having contact with a patient that had the Ebola Virus. Case closed she should be fired and never able to work as a nurse again. She should go down in the history books as the nurse that got away. Passed on the germs to who knows how many people. Ask the nurse does she remember from her textbooks what Quarantine means. Wow! Really! She must have cheated her way all through nursing school and got her license because a Real Nurse would have never left to expose others. She has no heart. “Do unto others as you would want others to do unto you” Case Closed. Everyone makes a mistake with something that they are not familiar of. So the CDC Director is only human. He is dealing with a situation that just came from no where but now as we educate each other we need to move forward to help us all not to be placed in a situation like this and know what to do. Move on. Next!!!!!!
